Paprika, Sweet Smoked
Sweet Smoked Paprika is the ground, toasted fruit of the red bell variety of the Capsicum annuum plant, a member of the nightshade family. The peppers are dried slowly over an oak burning fire for several weeks. It has a pronounced sweet and smokey flavor, less bitter than the Hungarian variety. It is commonly used in Paella, Gratin, fish dishes, spinach and Chickpea stew or bean dishes. Excellent on grilled veggies or corn on the cob. It can be used anywhere a smokey flavor is desired.
